Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has extended his deal with the club until the end of the 2023/24 campaign, the club have confirmed.
Simeone guided Atletico to the LaLiga title last season, finishing ahead of city rivals Real Madrid.
Since arriving at the club in 2011, the Argentine has won more trophies than any other Atletico manager, with eight in total.
Simeone’s backroom staff Oscar Ortega, Pablo Vercellone, Nelson Vivas and Hernan Bonvicini have also signed contract extensions until 2024.
A statement on the Atletico club website read: “With this contract extension, we continue our exciting project with Diego Simeone. Fantastic news for the Atleti family.”
