Leeds United, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all “monitoring” Sampdoria’s €10m-rated defender Omar Colley, according to reports in Italy.

The Gambian international has been with Sampdoria since 2018. He joined them after having a two-year spell at Belgian side Genk.

Colley has already totted up 85 appearances for the Serie A outfit.

Don’t let Euro 2020 mask UEFA greed and immorality

The 28-year-old featured 29 times for Sampdoria in the league last season as his side finished ninth in the Italian top flight.

Italian outlet SampNews24 (as cited by Sport Witness) have reported that Leeds United, Newcastle United and West Ham are “monitoring” the defender.

They suggest that his future is “uncertain”, but Sampdoria “won’t make discounts” for him. The Italians are unwilling to accept an offer less than €10m.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, it was revealed that West Ham have bid £11m for West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

The former Man United ‘keeper shone for the Baggies last season as they suffered relegation back down to the Championship. David Moyes sees him as his top goalkeeper target this summer.

Elsewhere, former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Marcelo Bielsa “needs” a bigger club like Barcelona instead of Leeds United:

“He needs to be at a big club Bielsa, doesn’t he? He needs to be at a club like Barcelona let’s be honest.

“Spurs are a bigger club than Leeds… it would be a step up. Jose Mourinho’s not going to go and be Leeds manager, is he?

“I’m not saying Leeds aren’t a big club and I’m not saying Bielsa needs to leave, I’m saying he should be at a club like Barcelona. He’s a great manager and Leeds are very lucky to have him.

“I’d love him at Spurs but he’s never going to leave Leeds to go to Spurs. Not enough ambition at Spurs.

“He’s a world-class manager.

“I think he has a sort of love affair with that club, the town and the fans. They all love him and I think he loves them.

“But if someone like Barcelona, Real Madrid or PSG come knocking, I’m sorry, you’re not staying at Leeds United, you’re going.”
