Katie Ledecky has become the face of U.S. swimming. 

Following the retirement of Michael Phelps, no swimmer has accomplished more notoriety than Ledecky, who has dominated distance freestyle events across the international stage for several years now. 

This year, she has the chance to reach double-digit Olympic gold medals if she can win in all five events in which she will be competing. Already the holder of two world records, she also has the potential to set new marks in the 800-meter freestyle and the 1500 freestyle.
