Clemson football star wide receiver Justyn Ross pens a heartfelt message to the Tigers fanbase after entering the 2022 NFL Draft.

Justyn Ross may have played his last snap as a member of the Clemson football team, but he leaves behind an impressive legacy upon turning pro.

The redshirt junior from Phenix City, Alabama has wisely decided to enter the 2022 NFL Draft. Ross was among the best wide receivers in football prior to missing all of the 2020 campaign due to a serious spinal injury. Though he returned to the gridiron in 2021, Ross suffered another injury and had not played for the Tigers since November. He penned an incredible message to Clemson.

“To my teammates, my brothers that went to war with me, we will forever have an inseparable bond,” wrote Ross in an Instagram post. “During my toughest times you all were there keeping me lifted and helped me come back stronger. Together we accomplished so much at Clemson on the field, in the classroom and in the community. I can truly say what we did will never be forgotten.”

“To my coaches, thank you for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of the best football program in the nation. With that being said, I will be forgoing my final year of eligibility and pursuing my lifelong dream of playing in the NFL. This was one of the hardest decisions but I know it’s best for my career and for my family. It will forever and always be. . . GO TIGERS!!”

Despite the medical concerns, Ross projects as a top-100 pick in the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft.

Justyn Ross shares heartfelt message to Clemson football fans over Instagram

There were moments two seasons ago where it did not look like Ross would ever play another down of football. Had he not had the spinal injury, Ross would have almost certainly turned pro after his true junior year in 2020. Ross could have been playing in the NFL this season, but opted to finish what he started at Clemson. Though the Tigers struggled this year, Ross never gave up.

While there have been other wide receivers at Clemson who were just as talented as him, what separates Ross in Clemson lore is his never say die approach to the game he loved. Coming back from a career-threatening injury cannot be overlooked. Ross will be remembered by Clemson fans for his perseverance as well as his brilliant play during his four years as a member of the team.

Whoever ends up drafting Ross will be getting one of the most mentally players at his position.
