At the end of the day, the Atlanta Hawks will always express their appreciation and well wishes for Cam Reddish.

Per second-year man Onyeka Okungwu, the young and talented squad has nothing but love for the departed swingman, who took its talents to the Big Apple earlier this month.

“We all love Cam,” Okungwu said via Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. “He’s a good kid. I have a good relationship with Cam Reddish.

“At the end of the day, it’s like they always say, ‘The NBA is a business.’ It is what it is. I wish him nothing but the best. That’s my brother right there.”

After expressing his desire to have an increased team role, Reddish was landed by the New York Knicks to go along with veteran forward Solomon Hill and a 2025 second-rounder in a transaction with the Hawks. Atlanta, meanwhile, gained Kevin Knox and a protected 2022 first-round pick from the Charlotte Hornets.

In eight games since joining the Knicks, Reddish hasn’t tasted any maximized on-court exposure yet, just playing at only around 15 minutes through the given span. As such, coach Thibodeau wants him to be patient for the opportunity, as the Knicks’ current rotation remains intact.

Despite seeing each other as Eastern Conference nemesis this time, the respect by Okungwu and the Hawks for Reddish is truly commendable. More than the game, the bond they shared from the past will always reign all over.
